A shameless Palembang “Datuk Paduka” in town

I just can’t wait for the new the five-year custodial sentence to be tabled in the Parliament under a new clause in the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963 this coming June to address the issue of bogus honorary titles, including ‘Datuk’, ‘Tun’ and ‘Tan Sri’, that are being conferred indiscriminately to Malaysians.
I hope that this new clause, which is long overdue will be passed without much delay in our August House to deal with the shameless people in Malaysia that go around introducing themselves as Datuk, Datuk Seri, Datuk Paduka , Datuk Seri Diraja and etc that was obtained from Southern Philippines , Indonesia  as well as some self-proclaimed Sultan in Malaysia.
With this, I hope that the authority will go after those that gave our royal institutions and Malaysian generally a bad name. It is time for us to restore the honour and dignity of the awards conferred by King, Sultans and head of states for it is now a laughing stock that Malaysian are title crazy. It won’t be long before Malaysia makes it to the Guinness Book of World Records as the nation with the most titled individual per population.
One such shameless man in town that boasts about his Datuk Paduka title that was obtained from the Sultan of Palembang, Sultan Mahmud Balaruddin III somewhere last year for God know how much is a Mr. F****e C*****g, a self-claimed king of the insurance industry. There are dozens of people in town who wish to see that the authority will take action again him for he is such a disgusting man who not only boast about his unrecognized title but abuse it too. Indirectly, people like him is giving us a bad name that apa apa pun boleh in Malaysia; can't get it here, Indon pun bisa boleh.
The philosophical mind in me just can’t understand what is so great to be called with a title knowingly that it is bought from unrecognized institution. Above all,  we should emulate Mr. Robert Kuok, the late Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu and Tun Ghafar Baba, two whom only accept their Tun-ship long after retirement and after much persuasion by Dr. Mahathir. After all, a man is not judged by the titles he is called but by his merits.

P/S: I have little birds who told me that Datukship from Palembang costs about RM20,000.00 while Datukship from a Southern state costs RM 100,000.00 and from an east coast state for RM 180,000.00. When I asked what is the difference, little birds replied that it is like buying LV from Petaling Street, LV from second rate stores and LV from the boutique. Duh !!
